Great Look
Stevie sent this picture she took of Duke at the Heath on Sunday today - hadn't noticed quite how insanely wonderful his outfit was....like a raver/wrestler in a bonnet!

.....and you can't knock those crocs!
I need some camera advise please. I want one that shoots to 300 dpi quality, is small....and takes great pictures! I've got a Canon digital Ixus 60 now which I've abused rather and is on its last legs I'm afraid. I want to learn more but I don't want a camera that'll scare me off!!! Any hints would be greatly appreciated....

Hi Madame!
I've just got a Canon Ixus 75 (cheap as it's getting old!) but it has a massive screen and some very nifty features. I upgraded from a Ixus 50 that is battered and well loved, but was wonderful as it is almost bombproof! I like a camera I can keep in my pocket all the time, so I get to sit on them and drop them. The Ixus range seem to be able to just about cope.
(ps. Love your writings, I've been lurking a while and am now out!)
Hi Jon!
I like the sound of nifty features! Does it also take pictures of 300 dpi quality? I love my ixus but my boys have knackered it so that the lens no longer covers over so it is always exposed and consequently rather grubby! Suddenly it looks like I'm shooting everything through an inch of vaseline! I'd like to stay in the ixus range because I understand them....
Ha ha! Now you're OUT and proud I hope to hear from you again soooon!
No, alas, it takes photos at 180 dpi - which seems to the the norm for all Canon Ixus cameras. But, doing a bit of research I came up with this at ImpulseAdventure which questions the need for a higher dpi. My little IXUS 75 takes great shots, not as deep as the D40 dSLR I also use, but ok for a little pocket camera.
I was on a shoot the other day and one of the photographers advised the Lumix that shoots raw files and also the Canon G9.....He had the Canon and let me have a look and it was quite lovely, also about the same price as the one I have which I wasn't expecting. The only reason I need 300dpi is because sometimes if a magazine wants to do a piece on the shop at the last minute I can take a photo myself of whatever they want to feature rather than try to arrange a shoot etc....I'm going to go and have a look at all the possibilities next week - thanks for advise and I'm going to follow that link you sent me.....
I love finding the answers to a problem, and I've opened the question to a wider audience - I hope you don't mind. J
This is great! The G9 seems to be coming out on top doesn't it?
